I have a 78 shortbox F150 Ranger- explorer I bought new when gas was 1.04 a gallon. I also have a 93 Mercury with a 4.6 DOHC 16 valve V-8 that gets about 25 mpg. I would like to swap it for the 400 in my truck now. Has anyone matched a 4.6 to a C-6 transmission? and if so can I buy a kit somewhere?

Take your question to www.ford-trucks.com and post your question in the appropriate section of their forum - good luck !

Thank you, I'm on my way. I've also been told that swapping my C6 for an E4OD from a 460 4/4 truck and putting it behind my 400 might be as effective as the engine swap for saving gas. She's not a daily driver, so I don't want to invest a fortune.
