I just got a 1956 Chevy pickup 3200 long bed on ebay because the seller did not provided the correct information and pictures,it still an awesome truck but i really wanted to buy a short bed truck ,anyway I'm kind like stuck now and i wanted to know what will be the best way to modified this truck and make it a short bed, would it be better to replaced the complete chassis from another newer truck or car and get a short bed kit,I'm pretty sure there are some experts out there with some nice suggestions, thank you for any info you can throw out this way.by the way this truck is in very nice shape.
sorry about your e bay deal.If intrested,im looking for a 56 longbed box complete,89",stepside.#978 604 4613.Thanks,Phil
long-beds are the new cool, I have a 3600. You can shorten the frame and bed, just buy new steps about 60 each. Or just go long and low
I got a 56 3600 and have shorten the frame and installing IFS and a 4 ling out back. The frame needs 9.150" taken out after the rear cab mount.
Heck yeah! Long and Low all the way! Dad has a 50 longbed, and I have a 60 longbed, both lowered!
I agree with long and low, everybody builds short beds, dare to be different.
I just joined this forum about five minutes ago and I'm glad to see some guys are fixing the long wheel base trucks. I bought a 1953 3600 this morning and will be starting on it when i get it home tomorrow. Does anyone have some pictures of their completed 3600 truck. Thanks
Send me a email firstname.lastname@example.org and Ill send you some pictures of my dad's kickass 1950 3/4 ton longbed CONVERTIBLE!
I have a '56 3200 longbed that i bought in April and have been driving it ever since. it has a 235 TF motor and runs like a champ. it has been modified from the three on the tree to an S10 5 speed and has 12 volts and an HEI ignition.I have been collecting all kinds of parts for it and have been to many swap meets and shows.LONG RULES !!!!!!!!!!! Everyone that sees it loves it!!!!!!! It isnt a show truck but I let kids sit in it as well as adults and they love it. I have seen so many shorty trucks and mine stands alone.the steps are great as well as the spare tire rack on the side. Just a beauty!!!!!
