Hello all. I haven't posted before, just read. In any event, I have been looking at 1955 Chevy 3100 trucks on line for a while now and I am doing some heavier research now. I hope to buy one in the next year or two. I will likely get a second series because they are generally cheaper and easier to find. But I have seen a few first series trucks in my price range on line, although not many. I intend this to be a daily driver, except for snowy months and I am going to actually use it as a truck, not just a car. I have not actually sat in a first series although I have sat in the second series. I am looking at specifically a 1955 for sentimental reasons. My main question is about the cab size. I have assumed the cab interiors on the first series are narrower just by looking at the body style but I cannot confirm this anywhere and I have not been able to look at any up close to compare. Can anyone confirm this.Sorry for the newbie question but one has to start some place. The oldest truck I have owned was a 1971 Chevy so these older ones are a bit new to me.Thanks again.
I am not sure of the exact sizes but there isn't too much of a difference. If you want to increase the size inside, most people take the fuel tank out and replace it under the rear of the chassis. Generally they were not very generous with leg room.
