new guy

Hello everyone new here to this forum, finally have a truck to restore/customize.

The truck is a 1946 GMC half ton set up for a 350.
My question is where should I start? I plan on doing the bodywork myself except for the paint. The body is going to be kept original with the exception of the front bumper and markers on the headlights along with fuel tank under the seat! Any input is welcome the truck had a 350 swap done in the 70's and its pretty crude, still has leaf front suspension etc
