I just bought this restore truck and the man I bought it from had installed a new choke cable. About 10 years ago I had a 250 with a Rochester 1 bl that had a manual choke and I forget how it hooks up to the knob on the dash. Anyone have any info? Think I'm missing a flap or something that holds the outer sleeve on the choke. The outer sleeve moves but not the cable. I'm just asking for helpful info before I rip it out tomorrow. I was posting about headers and this popped in my head of things I need to work on. Thanks

got pictures... upload them to photobucket dot com . .when you have saved them there..
paste the links that begin with IMG here...
on the cable casing bracket... there is a little flap that holds the choke cable casing in place...
if that has fallen off.. you might have some issues..
the closest i could find is a holley 85-628 and i don't think its going to fit. .but perhaps you could bend and cut something to fit..
i searched in some of my carb parts catalogs that have NEW parts for those.. not just kits...

check out the image on page 2 of this 12 page model b carb manual...
http://www.newagemetal.com/pages/ServiceProcedures/B/1964/64ModelBmanual.pdf
it looks like it grips the outside of the cable in a round clamp..
one might be able to form something over a drillbit.. that is slightly smaller than the cable casing.. so you can open it up.. then pinch the casing with it..
