I'm new hear. I am looking at a 1983 F-150 for my daughter. A neighbor has it for sale. It is 2 owner. He bought it 6 years ago wit 42k on it & it now has 49k. It is cloth bench, auto trans, pwr steering, no electric window, no electric door lock & no a/c.
A little rust from early years in Michigan but manageable - otherwise it's pristine.
It's a 4x4
Here is the pic
 .
Any help you gan give me on a fair price?

Does it have a 302 v8? $1000 to $1500. It's what you think of the truck. Remember it's 30 years old. Its an antique in most states...LOL...
How does it go down the road. How does it feel at 65MPH. Maybe have a mechanic check th front end.
It looks like there has been some body work done over the L/Rear wheel and repainted. Look for overspray. Thats a lazy painter. But thats not a problem... With a magnet and go around all the lower metal parts of the truck. See if the magnet will or will not stick. To the rocker panels, lower door panels, fenders, tail gates rotted on those. Crawl under it and check the under body. (Just some FYI the larger the magnet the better) you'll get more area that way. With a small ball peen hammer and just tap the frame. If it sounds solid great. Tap around the bumper supports.
If the magnet sticks good.
If it doesn't stick NO/GOOD ? Looks can be deceiving??
One more usuall rule of thumb: Most times you will need to put 10% repairs into a used vehicle....Been there and done that... GOOD LUCK.
