I have a 1965 c10 with a 230 and it has a Rochester 1bbl carb and I beleive its a BV. I rebuilt the carb because the accelerator pump did not work, and it was dried and out cracked. Got everything back together and it still wont squirt. A friend of mine told me some of the 1bbls had a check ball under the accelerator pump so I put one there and it still wont squirt. I dont even know were its supposed to squirt from when you pump the throttle. Ive rebuilt several carbs but this is my first 1bbl and im at the end of my rope.
hmm...this is for 67 pontiac version...Rochester BV 1967 service manualthe accelerator pump is described on digital page 4 printed page 6b7 and an image on 5 printed page 6b8...image 6b13the pump discharge ball is under a T shaped device... with a brass spring under it.. that holds the check ball down... removing this T retainer is shown in image 6b21 you should be able to check the accelerator pump circuit with the top cover off by placing a finger over the T retainer over the spring and working the accelerator pump assembly up and down...could you have a clogged discharge hole??? its been over a decade since i have had one of these apart..
