I have a 1953 gmc 100 it has a inclosed drive shaft can I swap out the rear end and install a newer model with a open driveshaft? If so what year model will fit and what changes if any will I have to preform? I think I have a 411 rear end and would love to install something thats not geared so low.

take a look at billymon slide show from a link below..

it has .. now that i have had a few hours sleep.. a nova or camaro rear end.. and a conventional saginaw full syncro 3 speed...

he just purchased it and did not know what the components are..
