Going to convert gas tank elsewhere. I need to know if i cant fit a 15" sub in the cab of my truck. I want this radio to be bad ass. What are ya'lls thoughts in the matter? 2-12's? Any advice for anything would help. I dont know where to start. Just know i want to go big. Thanks
i have a STUPID idea.. since you are moving the tank.. and will probably have the bed off..how are your metal fab skills.. why not put some bump outs for speakers in the back of the cab.. and continue them into the front wall of the box.. if you plan on mounting the speaker faces at the same angle as the seat back ... you may not need to create that much area.. you may also.. want to think about some custom upholstery.. that uses some kind of speaker cloth and some kind of foam or other material over the seat springs.. so you don't get a muffled sound out of the woofers..my brother (rip) used to design and work in recording studios here.. in one.. back in the early mid 90s.. he used four 18" maccauley woofers... four 1,000 watt BGW amps .. one per woofer.. 10 gauge teflon insulated wire with a 3 turns per foot twist.. the other midranges and tweeters added up to 460 watts.. nobody was ever able to get it so loud that the peak lights came on.. he also spent a lot of time eliminating hum and hiss.. there are some fantastic units setup out there.. one guy pulled up behind me at a signal.. i could see shock waves coming off his rear quarter panels in my mirrors..
